My Father Wrote ...
Undated but most likely written after he has settled down this poem follows the relentless theme of The Return and Slippin'. Al Copeland remembers the open spaces of Arizona and the wonders of Hawaii. He also dreams of places he has never been ... ever more to see. But from further wonderings he did abstain, settling down with Sue and fathering their 5 children.
Marilyn Copeland set up the page adding just a hint of the exotic places that may have been.
The Lure of the Far Away Shortly after my introduction to my younger brother and sisters, the Copeland family, in the fall of 2006, my sister Marilyn Copeland sent a copy of "The Return". It was a poem written by our Father. At Christmas of 2007 Marylyn assembled a book of his compositions adding graphics as shown here. . They have given me an insight into the father I never knew and I share some of them on these pages.
