My Father Treasured ...

Ah ... for the comforts of home and protection from the discomforts of military life. It is in stark contrast to The Return. Makes one think ... the grass is always greener ... ! This poem was found among the writings that my father wrote himself or those he treasured and inspired him. The author of this poem is unknown. We will give credit to the Author if his name becomes known. You can see a copy of this poem on this 1920 publication.

My Father Treasured ...

Soldier's Prayer
Author Unknown

Shortly after my introduction to my younger brother and sisters, the Copeland family, in the fall of 2006, my sister Marilyn Copeland sent a copy of "The Return". It was a poem written by our Father. At Christmas of 2007 Marylyn assembled a book of his compositions and others he treasured adding graphics as shown here. .

They have given me an insight into the father I never knew and I share some of them on these pages.
