My Father Wrote - The Returnt

This was the first of the writings of my father that my sister Marilyn sent to me after I had discovered my Copeland family,. She had made a plaque of it for her siblings some time before.

The poem is undated but must have been written in Ohio in 1922 or later. He had been in the Cavalry for four years. The poem speaks for itself.

Copeland Shortly after my introduction to my younger brother and sisters, the Copeland family, in the fall of 2006, my sister Marilyn Copeland sent a copy of "The Return". It was a poem written by our Father. At Christmas of 2007 Marylyn assembled a book of his compositions adding graphics as shown here. .
