Forwarding Attachments

Attachments are great. You can send photos, graphics, animated graphics and other files to friends and associates. They are also the virus creators best friend! (See The Trojan Horse)

If you receive an email with a text file as an attachment or a graphic that you want to share with others DO NOT FORWARD their email!

  • If the attachment is text, open it and copy it. (See the instructions in Forwarding Email).

  • If it is a graphic file, copy it to a folder on your PC.

  • Open a new email, address it, and type  the subject.

  • Then type a message that identifies you and the content of the file.

  • Insert or attach the copied file.

You have copied the attachment to a new email, personalized by you ready to send to a friend. And, he knows it is not a Trojan Horse bring a virus to his computer because you cared enough to personalize it.

.(Also see Forwarding Email)

I have, and sometimes still do violate some of the rules listed here. I promise to try and do better.
