The Clark Family
The Nash Family

Prompted to research the Clark line of ancestors by a DNA match, this page was created and in an effort at inclusiveness the Nash line of ancestors was added.

Some of the information we have comes from Ancestry, com member family trees. We have made every effort to eliminate errors but please notify us if any are found.

This is their story, as I know it.

An Overview

I discovered that our Clark (Clarke) ancestors can be traced to  Sir Kenneth De Clerk born in 1009 at Northumbria, England.

In addition, our Nash ancestors can be traced to Robert Franklin Nash born in 1424 in England.

I also discovered a family relationship with Abraham Clark who was an American politician and Revolutionary War figure. He was delegate for New Jersey to the Continental Congress where he signed the Declaration of Independence and later served in the United States House of Representatives in both the Second and Third United States Congress, from March 4, 1791, until his death in 1794. See Relationship Chart.

Of course all this research was prompted by the fact that my recently found DNA cousin L.S. (administered by TCreature3) and I have a DNA match to the Clark clan. Our nearest common ancestor is seen at this Relationship chart. Deacon George Clark is an ancestor of L.S.
