Miracles ...
There are miracles in life but I do not pray to God to perform them on my
behalf nor do I depend on miracles to solve my problems.
As I look back on my life, I see many miracles. These miracles were a set of
circumstances which, if all the parts were not in place, would have altered my
life beyond recognition. The greatest of these is that ...
I
married Anne because I had an extra post card.
In 1952 my
ship (US Navy) visited San Juan, Puerto Rico. I bought a bunch of post
cards to send to friends and relatives and when through addressing them, there
was one left. What to do? ... Anne and I dated during high school but while I
was going to IIT, she dumped me! So, ... I addressed it to her and simply wrote
"Are you still available?" and my return address.
Was the
miracle ... the extra card? ...that I thought of Anne? ... that she answered?
...That her mother said to her "Write him back, he's probably
lonesome?".
I think
that the miracle is that the Holy Spirit was working for us when we didn't even
know we needed Him.

These are presented in no
particular order but are listed as they come to mind. They are mine
and I do not intend to impose them on anyone else. If you come to accept
them, I am happy to share them. These beliefs have been accumulated
during my entire life but mostly during the most recent years. They come
out of personal experience, and the teaching and influence of others.
