The Power of Positive Thinking

I have always believed that positive thinking has a powerful effect in our lives. A televised seminar by Wayne W. Dyer gave me a new insight into this concept and opened it to a new depth for me.

Mr. Dyer pointed out that when you keep thinking that you dislike being poor, or unhappy, or unloved ... (add your own),  you are reinforcing those qualities and will continue to go on with your life disliking these things but not changing the situation. You are positively reinforcing the things you dislike about your life.

He continued by saying that we must discard this kind of thinking. If the thought enters our consciousness  that we are unhappy, it must be pushed aside and replaced with thoughts of how we will feel when we are happy.

Dyer's concept works for me. I think that this same concept applies to prayer. We often go to God with our troubles, asking Him to be our problem solver. But do we go to Him an thank Him for His many blessings? ... Maybe, if we said "Thank You", God would say "This person really appreciates my gifts. I will give him more."

There is an old song that says,
" Maybe what's good,
will get a little bit better,
and maybe the bad,
will get gone
