A Note From My Daughter

My grandson, Anthony Albano, chose to leave Evansville University, a school he loved, friends he loved and a team to which he was dedicated. He made this painful decision when the situation became intolerable for him. The note from my daughter refers to this situation and is included here as a testimony to our family.

It should be noted that the "YOU" in the last line refers to Anne and I, ... mostly Anne. Thank you Anne Marie.

Hi Dad...

Just in the past day or so I have come to realize that the past three weeks may have been a blessing in disguise.  A huge mistake in judgment by a coach has propelled Anthony's name across the country.  The method of Coach Schrage's "motivation" totally backfired on him and his program.  I only feel sorry for the other players and the University.  The athletic director truly did not want to release him from his contract but had no recourse due to the erroneous statements made by his head baseball coach.

I can only say how proud I am of Anthony's handling of this situation.  His plan this year was to work harder, if that is possible, than he has before.  If only his coach knew that threats would not work. We have raised our children to believe they are special and to always believe in themselves and stand up for what is right.

Anthony took a risk by standing up for himself and after just two days has 23 universities awaiting a fax of his release so they may contact us.   His coach did not ever know the quality person he had behind the player.  Sadly for him, I think he knows now.  For Anthony, this is like a dream come true which he entirely deserves.

Thanks for listening and thanks in advance for listening...because you have no choice.  I believe I have strong children because we have a strong family....Thank YOU for that!

I love you,

Anne Marie

Thoughts About ...
Family
What I think "Family" means in our lives.
Being a man, these thought will be from the male point of view. Much of what I think is applicable, however, to both genders. I will try to be fair.
