The Parking Lot
There are many opportunities to do an act of kindness in parking lots. For instance, as you drive (slowly) down the aisle, you may see the backup light of a parked car go on or see the car start to back out. You could assume that the driver can see you and you could speed up to get past so you are not delayed. Or, you could be courteous and stop because that driver may not be able to see your car and is probably in as much of a hurry as you are. The latter is the safest thing to do too.
You see a mother who has just placed a young child, or two, into her car and is unloading the groceries from the cart. She has two choices: Leave the kids and car and return the cart to the designated place, or leave the cart nearby and get into her car. (The next time you see a cart where it doesn't belong, it may be because a mother made the right choice.) But, ... you have the opportunity to go a little out of your way and offer to take the cart for her. That is the best choice. As a matter of fact, as you walk past anyone who has just emptied a cart, it is so neighborly to say, "Can I take that for you?" And, you are going to need a cart anyway.
Be More Kind than You Need to Be ... You are invited to perform acts of kindness whenever the opportunity presents itself. Help to make this world a better place. Some examples are recorded on this page. I will add to them as they are brought to mind
